How it all happened recently
After a very successful year and a half of unbelievable sales of the original UDB, we have made some dramatic changes due to customer requests.  The two most notable are that we switched manufacturers and now the ULTIMATE DEALER BUTTON™ is PRE-PROGRAMMABLE for up to 10 rounds!   The overall quality has increased greatly including; the sound of the alarm is much louder, LCD display is of the highest quality, we added an additional battery so information will be stored from one tournament to another, but we kept the same great look.  We hope you enjoy the NEW PRE-PROGRAMMABLE ULTIMATE DEALER BUTTON™ as much as we do.

How it all happened on the original UDB
It all started during the Christmas holidays 2003.  Week after week we were playing poker.  We welcomed anyone over to our house that wanted to partake in a game of cards.  Our choice was Texas Hold’em, of course.  Next thing you know we were counting down the days to the weekend to have yet another poker tournament with our friends.  Both my wife and I had become poker addicts.  We were hooked like the rest of the country, and world.

Like most other people playing the average home game we timed our rounds using the timer on our built-in microwave, having to get up and reset it after each and every round.  After a few months of that method my wife brought a timer home from her 5th grade classroom.  She and her students could do without it.  Not that our poker game was more important than their education, of course.  But poker had become our life, right?  Once the batteries died on that we were forced back to the simplistic microwave timer. All along our minds were running trying to think of a solution to our poker problem.  Not only had the round time become an issue, but so had the blinds.  No one at the table could ever remember what the blinds were at when the night ran late.  “Are they 10-20?  Or are they at 15-30 now?” everyone asked.  Then it hit us.  We need to make a device that shows the blinds and antes as well as keeps the time for us.

From there we started thinking about how to design it and what it would look like.  We decided to incorporate our idea into the best dealer button ever, and thus, the ULTIMATE DEALER BUTTON came to life!

I originally did a comprehensive search online to see if such a thing already existed.  Surely something like this is already out there I thought.  With poker being so big, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our idea was genuinely original.  We were so excited!  Then we employed a patent attorney to help us with the new idea.  He also did a broad and complete search for such a product, and he, too, found that nothing of the sort currently existed.  From there we wrote our patent and filed it.  Next we had to find a company to help us design and make the UDB. We were fortunate to find many opportunities waiting for us.  After designing it and receiving our original prototype, we made some small adjustments and finally the perfect “ULTIMATE” dealer button had truly come to life.
